Design Is A Sign of Intention

A wise professor of urban planning was quoted as saying that his observation over many years of practice was that "Design is a sign of intention". We believe that the examples below validate his observations:

The intent here seems to be to maximize developer profit at the expense of residents' livability by siting the new tower so close as to reduce natural light to almost negligible levels. 

The intent here seems to be to work with the neighbors to insure natural light and livability for residents of both buildings.

Should the City of Seattle continue to allow the livability, health, and safety of its downtown residents be compromised in order to continue to accommodate the greed of developers? We don't think so, especially when an achievable, reasonable, and permanent solution is to couple the allowable height departure under HALA with a height departure in Design Review for DOC2 (in exchange for tower spacing and alley setbacks).

If you agree, please let Mayor Murray and City Council know of your displeasure with this lack of concern about people and adverse impacts to their lives.
